INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY

The Jewish Foundation of Ukraine has fruitful contacts with a number of international Jewish and non-Jewish foundations and organizations. Different joint projects are realized and Foundation's members take part at international conferences and seminars representing the Jewish community of Ukraine.
In 2007 MP Aleksandr Feldman, President of the Foundation, represented the JFU at the conference organized by the USA Congress.
Mr. Arkady Monastyrsky, the JFU Director General, established good relations with the World Organization of the Jews-parliamentarians and organized meetings with the representatives of Jewish communities of Denmark, Austria, Luxemburg and the Netherlands.
Joint American Jewish Distribution Committee and Jewish Agency "Sohnut" have been the JFU reliable partners for many years. They help to organize and realize various festivals and seminars and also grant financial support for the JFU publishing activity. The work experience of these organizations in the Diaspora countries is an example for the JFU activity.
In 2007 the Foundation began to develop a new international activity direction having become the member of the International Organization "People to People International" - "National diplomacy". It takes part in its actions and projects.
The Foundation has good contacts with "B'nai-B'rith European organization, the European Jewish Congress, World Council of the Jewish Community Centers, International Federation "For peace in the whole world", European Humanity Found (the Netherlands), Federation of the New York Jewish Communities, "United" (the Netherlands) and other famous international organizations.
Constant cooperation with the "Project Kesher" women's Jewish organization was set.
The JFU members took part in number of programs and

women's group was created in the Foundation.Relations with the International Council of the Jewish women have been started and the Foundation representatives have taken part in the seminar in Israel held by the women's Jewish organization.
In 2007 the joint projects with the International organization "Claims conference" and the World Council of Yiddish Culture were going on. A number of grants were obtained.
Besides creating and realizing joint projects the Foundation strives for the Jewish community's acquaintance with the life and culture of other countries, features of the Jewish communities in these countries.
On this purpose
Kinor Community Center created a special program a few years ago. The program continues to develop inviting ambassadors and other diplomats of different countries. In 2007 the ambassadors of Hungary and Israel were the guests of Kinor. The meetings with the Ambassadors of Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Poland to Ukraine are scheduled.
In general, the JFU has connections with the diplomatic representatives of 35 countries.
